Editorial Policy

How Charfen decides what to publish, how we check it and what we do when we get it wrong.

1. What we publish

Guides, explainers and ideas on technology, business, finance, lifestyle, travel and more. Charfen is not a breaking-news service, and we do not present opinion as fact.

2. How we choose topics

We choose topics from the questions readers ask and the decisions people have to make, and we avoid subjects we cannot cover responsibly.

3. How we check facts

• Specific facts such as prices, dates, figures and rules are checked against primary or reputable sources where possible, and linked in the article or marked as general guidance.
• We do not invent quotes, sources, reviews, experiences or test results. If we have not tested a product ourselves, we do not say that we did.
• Articles on health, money, law or safety are general information. They say so and point readers to qualified professionals.
• Every article shows when it was published and, if it changed in a meaningful way, when it was updated.

4. Corrections and updates

If you find an error, use the contact form and put “Correction” in your message. We aim to review corrections within two working days. Significant corrections are noted on the article with the date. Small fixes, such as typos, are made without a note.

5. Independence and advertising

Advertising does not decide what we write. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

6. Authors

Each article shows its author. You can see everyone who writes for Charfen on the Authors page.
